Although born on the island of St. Lucia, Sharon was raised in Ontario, Canada as a young child, by her single parent Caribbean-American mother, with two younger brothers and two younger sisters.  She completed her first degree in Ottawa, Ontario and then moved to Toronto to complete her second degree.  
 
 
Education:
Sharon completed all her elementary and high school years in Ottawa, including her first Bachelor of Arts degree, which she completed at Carleton University in 1994.  She specialized in Political Science and Sociology/Anthropology.  In 1998, Sharon graduated from York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with a Post Graduate Social Work with Honours degree. Currently, pursuing a Life Coaching Certificate.

Sharon began her career in as a Junior Investor Relations Consultant in Toronto in 1998, but decided to follow her passion in the community and social services field.  However, as luck would have it, after having a son with Autism and needing more money than the social services field would pay, Sharon decided to get a job with the Federal Government. 
 
She worked briefly with the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA), now known as the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as an Individual Tax Agent, before securing a job with Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) as an Immigration Officer working at the Airport. She was asked to be the Program Project Coordinator at the new Toronto Rochester Ferry Terminal in Toronto's Lakeshore waterfront, for CIC and this led to a position in Ottawa at headquarters the following year, as a Senior Program Officer in the Marine unit.  Since then Sharon has worked on numerous high profile files [children's rights; refugees; immigration; human trafficking; intellectual property rights; etc.
 
The true calling and passion for social services work and the need to help others has been a constant through numerous volunteer positions supporting low income individuals, environmental causes and children's issues. 
 
Sharon established the group Women Empowering Girls to support young girls in ting girls in personal and career life; The forum named The Get Your Groove Back Club on Facebook for Separated and Divorced women wishing to reach out and the Get Your Groove Back Fan-page.
 
Sharon is a life coach in training, working towards her certification with Express Coaching, as a compliment to her Social Work degree.  She will also be working towards complimenting her degrees with a Diploma in Cognitive-Behavioural Hypnotherapy in the future.
 
Sharon has experience in the field of Social Work working with low income families obtain resources; mental health patients suffering from psychosis and families dealing with special needs kids and advocating for their rights. 
She has and is currently coaching individuals on career transition/changes, family and personal relationships, lifestyle and work-life balance and working with artist on creativity issues.
